Early Learning Ventures (ELV) is proud to announce that one of their partner sites, Kids’ Castle Child Care, received a Level 5 rating from Colorado Shines last week. With Level 5 being the highest rating that Colorado Shines gives child care centers, this is quite an accomplishment.
Colorado Shines Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) is a rating system that was designed for early childhood educational programs across the state of Colorado. Each child care site is evaluated across five major areas: Workforce Qualifications & Professional Development, Family Partnerships, Leadership, Management & Administration, Learning Environment, and Child Health Promotion. Once these areas have been assessed, a rating of 1-5, with 5 being the best, is allocated to each child care program.
Roger and Stephanie Olson, Owners and Directors of Kids’ Castle Child Care, are members of ELV’s Quality Child Care Partnership (QCCP), aimed at increasing the quality of care provided amongst Early Head Start programs. With the dedication of ELV Family Support Specialist and Quality Improvement Specialist, Roger and Stephanie have been provided with the support and resources they needed to increase the quality of care they provide to their infants and toddlers. The Olson’s have created an early learning environment that encourages cognitive, social/emotional, and physical development through play and learning activities. Roger and Stephanie provide their young students with a variety of learning opportunities, from reading cultural books to attending music class.
ELV applauds Roger and Stephanie’s commitment to providing high quality care to the youth and families that attend Kids’ Castle. With Level 5 child care programs being a rarity throughout Colorado, Kid’s Castle is also being featured at Qualistar’s Annual Gala and will be interview by Kyle Dyer from Channel 9 News. Congrats ELV and Kids’ Castle on this accomplishment.
