RedLine Contemporary Art Center fosters education and engagement between artists and communities to create positive social change.

Creating Positive Social Change through art

Artist-in-Residency

Artist Residency offers 2-year residencies for emerging, contemporary artists in Colorado. They receive fully subsidized studio spaces to provide financial flexibility, giving residents the freedom to explore and experiment without commercial constraints. They also receive mentorship, career development, and promotion during their time as Resident Artists. Additionally, artists get to work in proximity to their peers and within a community of mutual support that fosters networking and collaboration.

Arts Education & Community Outreach

RedLine offers a diverse range of local, artist-responsive community arts & education programs. Reach and Slam Nuba are two examples of community-led programs. Reach is a program where people in recovery or who are experiencing housing insecurity can engage in a free, collaborative, and inclusive open studio program. Slam Nuba is an award-winning literacy mentorship organization focused on rap, comedy, and competitive, performance-based poetry.

EPIC Arts and 48 Hours are two examples of Art Education programs. EPIC Arts provides opportunities for students to explore social issues through contemporary art and where artists are matched with educators and students. 48 Hours is an annual 2-day summit that engages cultural organizations, non-profits, artists, and individuals to share their expertise on cultural responsiveness, social responsibility, and collective leadership.

Artists Grants

RedLine works in collaboration with independent funders, members of the philanthropic sector, local government, and other community stakeholders to support a diverse range of ground-breaking grant projects for Colorado artists and creatives. Depending on the specific program, RedLine manages different facets of the grant administration process.

RedLine Satellite Studios

The Satellite Studio program is part of an ongoing effort to supply a greater inventory of affordable studio spaces to Colorado artists. The satellite studios including ArtPark, X Denver and Medici Studios to name a few.

"RedLine would not be where we are today without the empowering and transformative support from the David & Laura Merage Foundation. Since RedLine's founding, RedLine has supported over 100 artists with access to free studio space, career development and a professional network, and have developed programs and partnerships that respond to the needs of creative communities statewide. None of this would have been possible without the partnership and support from the David & Laura Merage Foundation."
