Black Cube: COVID-19 Artist Relief Video Art Award

In an effort to support Colorado artists impacted by COVID-19, Black Cube awarded 10 exceptional videos by Colorado-based artists.

The awardee videos can be found on Black Cube’s Vimeo channel. The videos reflect on current themes of isolation, quietude, repetition and routine, death, intimate environments, and escapism. All works were produced during the COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent quarantine.
Starting on Wednesday, April 15th, Black Cube will be hosting a series of short interviews with each awarded artist on Instagram Live.

Black Cube was able to make the Video Art Award possible thanks to support from the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and a matching donation from Leslie and J Kent Miller, and ongoing support from the David and Laura Merage Foundation. Each selected artist will receive recognition and a $200 cash reward. Black Cube is devoted to artists’ sustainability and art accessibility, and hopes that this opportunity provides care to artists and inspiration to viewers.
